Reforestation on the forest land which is currently used for planting agricultural and industrial crops by applying agroforestry solutions in the period 2018- 2020

Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment (IFEE)) supports Lam Dong Province to build up the project:” Reforestation on the forest land which is currently used for planting agricultural and industrial crops by applying agroforestry solutions in the period 2018- 2020”. One of the activities from developing the project is analyzing the current status of forest land which is currently used for planting agricultural and industrial crops in Lam Dong Province.

Payment for Forest Environmental Services Software

Payment for Forest Environment Services (PFES) software runs in MapInfo version 10.5 or higher to support Provincial Forest Protection and Development Funds for data management and development of PFES maps under the guidance of Circular No. 22.

Technical supporting on reviewing and adjusting of functional forest plan in Quang Binh province for period of 2016-2025 with orientation to 2030.

Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment is the consultant unit for the task: “Reviewing and adjusting of functional forest plan in Quang Binh province for period of 2016-2025 with orientation to 2030”. Up to now, the consultant is carrying out the field review.

The second training course on using tablet, GPS, smartphone for reviewing Payment for forest environmental services (PFES) status in Son La province was implemented by Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment. The trainees were staffs of Son La forest protection and development fund.

Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment is consulting unit of the mission:“Additional identifying the forest area in watershed and Mapping the status of payment for forest environment services”. Up to now, the consulting unit has completed all contents of the mission. On 06/12/2017, at Vietnam Forest Protection and Development Fund, the conference on the mission:“Additional identifying the forest area in watershed and Mapping the status of payment for forest environment services” was held

Appraisal Council for Identifying the forest area in the watershed of individual hydropower project as a basis for the implementation of the policy for payment for forest environmental services in Son La province in 2017.

Mission “Consultation for Identifying the forest area in the watershed of individual hydropower project as a basis for the implementation of the policy for payment for forest environmental services in Son La province in 2017” was implemented by Insitute for Forest Ecology and Environment. On November 11, 2017, Appraisal Council of project: Identifying the forest area in the watershed of individual hydropower project as a basis for the implementation of the policy for payment for forest environmental services in Son La province in 2017 was organized in Son La province.

Consultation conference on results of "Reviewing, adjusting the planning for forest protection, restoration and sustainable development in the Central Highlands up to 2025 with orientation to 2030"

The Forest Protection Department organized the consultation conference on results of "Reviewing, adjusting the planning for forest protection, restoration and sustainable development in the Central Highlands up to 2025 with the orientation to 2030" to submit to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the results approval of the planning reviewing and adjusting.

Regional technical working session on Spatial Analysis supporting integrated land use planning

Following the workshop "Integrated spatial planning: Integrating ecosystem services and climate change into planning" held at the Hanoi Club, the Regional technical working session on Spatial Analysis supporting integrated land use planning organized at the Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment (IFEE), Vietnam National University of Forestry, Xuan Mai Town, Chuong My District, Hanoi, from 03 to 06 October 2017 with the participation of experts on mapping / geographic information (GIS) for land use planning from MPI and MONRE. The regional technical working session was coordinated by experts from the World Conservation Monitoring Center (UNEP-WCMC) and IFEE.
