Coastal forest protection and development in Vietnam

Project "Improving resilience of vulnerable coastal communities to climate change – related impacts in Viet Nam" funded by Green Climate Fund (GCF) through UNDP in Vietnam. Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment is the consultancy firm to develop database for the management, monitoring and evaluation of coastal forest changes in the whole country and each province.

Forest restoration on forestry land that is producing agricultural crops and industrial crops by combining agro-forestry solutions in the period 2018 -2020

Lam Dong Province is one of the provinces with quite large forest cover in Vietnam. However, at present, Lam Dong in particular and the provinces in the Central Highlands are under a lot of pressure on changes in forest resources due to increased impacts of deforestation and forest degradation. One of the important causes of deforestation and forest degradation is the situation of people invading forest land to produce industrial crops (mainly coffee trees) and long-term agricultural crops. To restore the lost, degraded forest environment due to the above-mentioned people, there should be a feasible solution.

Hanoi Forest Protection Department cooperates with Institute of Forest Ecology and Environment to perform the task: Investigate and assess the current status of business, production, management of wood processing and forestry seedling production facilities in Hanoi City to develop databases and online management software to response the requirements of management and monitoring of Hanoi Forest Protection Department. The results will contribute to improving the efficiency and capacity of state management in the field of wood processing and forestry seedling production in Hanoi city.

Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment is the consulting unit for the task of: "Updating and adjusting the forest inventory and transition database into Payment For Environmental Services map of Hoa Binh province". To implement the activities of the mission, on October 22, 1818, at the Forest Protection Department of Da Bac district, the district meeting took place with representatives of the Forest Protection and Development Fund of Hoa Binh province, Provincial Forest Protection Department, Da Bac District People's Committee, Da Bac District Forest Protection Department, Consulting Unit.

Piloting the model of planting indigenous species to restore forests at Nui Ong Nature Reserve

The project "Piloting the model of planting indigenous species to restore forests at Nui Ong Nature Reserve" was carried out by Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment (IFEE) from September 2017. According to the project’s report, the consulting unit (IFEE) identified 4 indigenous plants to put into the conservation activities. The four species are Ươi, Trám Trắng, Thanh trà, Sa nhân.
